The Women of the Western Wall group stated: "On Hanukkah, the holiday in which we commemorate the struggle fought by the Maccabees for religious freedom - women are still denied religious freedom today, to practice their faith at the Western Wall. This is a ridiculous absurdity under the auspices of the Western Wall rabbi.".
