On Tuesday, in the early morning hours, during an activity by Border Police soldiers in the Jerusalem Encirclement and soldiers from the Military Police's Crossings Unit, the forces stopped a suspicious vehicle for inspection at the Hizma checkpoint.

During the inspection, the fighters questioned the suspect driver, who introduced himself as an Israeli resident of Shuafat. The fighters asked him to open the trunk, but the suspect driver, who appeared stressed, claimed that the trunk was stuck and could not be opened.

The fighters, who doubted the driver's identity, decided to conduct a thorough inspection and opened the back seat to look at the contents of the trunk, and to their surprise, they discovered two suspects lying curled up inside the trunk.

Upon identification of the two suspects, the three were immediately arrested.

The driver, who presented an Israeli ID card and claimed that he "didn't know how the two got into the luggage," got on board, and the two illegal residents, residents of Tulkarm and Ramallah, ages 48 and 37, were transferred for further investigation.

During the investigation, investigators were able to uncover the true identity of the suspected driver and discovered that he was not an Israeli as he claimed, but a 22-year-old Palestinian resident of the village of Al-Azriya - an illegal resident who impersonated another person and used his identity card.

Yesterday, an indictment was filed against the suspected driver, and he was detained until the end of the proceedings.
