Degel Hatorah Chairman, MK Moshe Gafni, warned today (Tuesday) that the yeshiva budget is expected to decrease this month "significantly by about a point," compared to previous months.

According to him, the cut does not concern those who are required to be drafted according to the law, but rather to graduates and overseas students who are entitled to support according to the law.

Gafni attacked the Legal Counsel to the Government: "This is an absurd situation in which the bureaucracy in the Legal Counsel to the Government does not allow the budgets transferred in the government and the Knesset to be used for the benefit of those entitled to it.".

He added that he had contacted the relevant authorities demanding that the matter be addressed as soon as possible and clarified: "We will not put this on the agenda!""

The chairman of the United Torah Judaism faction, MK Uri Maklev, will convene the faction tomorrow before the opening of the Knesset plenary session to discuss "the harassment of officials and the legal advice to the government for the yeshiva budget.".
