A terrible tragedy in Beit Shemesh: The baby Tuvia Meir Lederman, 9 months old from a Haredi family in Ramat Beit Shemesh G, was found dead this morning (Sunday) in his home on Hanevi Ovadia Street, after apparently choking on a pacifier string in his sleep.

Rescue forces called to the family home were forced, to their dismay, to declare him dead. ZAKA volunteers from the Beit Shemesh team were called to the scene and treated the deceased with dignity at the scene.

At the initial stage, the prosecution requested an autopsy, so the baby's body was brought by ZAKA ambulance to the Beit Shemesh police station for further investigation.

The toddler was later transferred to an external examination in Jerusalem, which was conducted under the supervision and responsibility of Rabbi Benzi Oering, commander of the Jerusalem District ZAKA.

Avrimy Kap, commander of the Beit Shemesh ZAKA, and Yosef Haim Ha'Uzi, the ZAKA ambulance driver, personally monitored the case, worked with the investigation and medical authorities, and led to the rapid completion of the tests and the decision to release the body without an autopsy, in order to hold the funeral as soon as possible.

At noon, the baby's body was taken in a ZAKA ambulance to the funeral home for the funeral.

His funeral will be held at 3:30 PM at the Derech HaChaim Funeral Home, Beit Shemesh.
