During the conversation, A-Shabel attacks Hezbollah, which boasts about its capabilities but does nothing. "Hezbollah boasts about its (military) capabilities, but now we don't hear a word from it.".
Assad is heard cursing residents of the Damascus countryside's al-Ghouta area, saying: "Abu al-Ghouta is dead." He also laughs at the soldiers who shake his hand and is recorded saying: "I feel not only shame but disgust. Is this our country? And people say 'Syria, Syria.'".
In other recordings, Assad continues to laugh at the Syrians: "They don't have money for food, but they spend money on mosques." He compared them to the pharaohs who built the pyramids for worship.

Advisor Luna al-Shabel was killed a year and a half ago when the vehicle she was traveling in to work at a palace in Damascus collided with an anonymous armored car with a sharp iron plate on the front. The car hit the back seat where the advisor was sitting.
She suffered a serious blow, lost consciousness and was rushed to a local clinic for medical treatment, and an hour later was transferred to Al-Shami Hospital in Damascus. Three days after the accident, she was pronounced dead.
