Against the backdrop of the Trump administration's efforts to bring an end to the war in Ukraine, which has been going on for almost 4 years, Russian President Putin is actually intensifying his tone this evening (Tuesday) and attacking European countries head-on.

The Russian president said: "Russia will allow European countries to participate in negotiations (to end the war) if they take into account the reality on the ground (on the battlefield).".

According to Putin, "The Europeans really don't have a peace plan on the table." He added and claimed that "the Europeans are keeping the American administration and President Trump away from achieving peace through talks. The Europeans' demands are unacceptable to Russia. And if they want to fight - we are ready now.".

Putin threatened that Russia would increase attacks on Ukrainian ports and shut them down if Kiev did not stop its "piratic actions" against Russian vessels, he said - referring to the fact that in recent days the Ukrainians had attacked Russian vessels smuggling oil.

The Russian president threatened European countries, saying that if the old continent starts a war, "there will be no one left to negotiate with.".

President Trump's envoys - Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner - are meeting with Putin in Moscow today. According to a report by the American website Axios, the American envoys will try to convince Putin to support the 19-point American peace plan.

Putin has previously said that the plan could form a basis for negotiations, but added that he is not ready to give up his hardline positions.

This will be the sixth meeting between the Russian president and envoy Vitkoff and the first time that Jared Kushner has joined the conversation between the two.
