The public interest in amnesty
In another survey conducted for "7 Sharon Gal," in the context of the pardon request, respondents were asked: "What do you think is the correct public interest?"
45% answered "to end the affair as soon as possible, even if the pardon is not conditional on a confession and retirement from public life," and 46% answered that the interest is "for the trial to continue to the end, even if this causes continued public tension," compared to 25% of the coalition voters.
In response to the question: "Will canceling the trial and granting amnesty to Netanyahu calm the flames and the division in the nation?", 35% answered yes, compared to 56% who answered no.
The sample was collected and compiled by Direct Polls Ltd., headed by Tzuriel Sharon, for i24NEWS on November 30, 2025, using a digital system combined with a panel, among 500 adult respondents (18+) who constitute a representative sample of the general population in Israel. The statistical sampling error is ±4.4% with a probability of 95%.
