The highlight of the journey: Widows and orphans from the War of Rebirth, who are currently on an extensive trip to the United States, arrived last night (Friday night) at the tent of the Lubavitcher Rebbe zt"l at the Montefiore Cemetery in Queens.
The orphans and widows came to the United States at the initiative of the charity organization Menocha Yishua, to strengthen and uplift their spirits and souls, after the great upheaval, when the father of the family, the 14th, was murdered or fell in the war that has been going on since Simchat Torah two years ago.
At a reception in a nearby building, held at the initiative of the Chief Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berel Lazar, who was thrilled by the blessed initiative to bring the widows and orphans on an invested journey - preceded by a prayer in the Rebbe's tent.
The event, which included a sumptuous dinner and a special gathering that lasted a long time, was led by the organization's friend, the emissary, Rabbi Yosef Zvi Filmer, who organized the event and invited Rabbi Nehemiah Wilhelm, the Chabad emissary in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, to serve as the first speaker. Rabbi Wilhelm strengthened those gathered with words of faith and confidence, and shared with them some of the stories of the emissary in his country.
Rabbi Lazar carried the main burden for a long hour. After this preparation, the prayer in the tent was moving.
Late at night, the participants boarded the organized buses to continue their journey.
