Four hours apart: Two earthquakes were felt in northern Israel

Residents in the north of the country reported today (Wednesday) two earthquakes that were felt several hours apart.

The first quake, which occurred at 12:47 p.m., was felt in the Tiberias, Safed, and Nazareth areas, and originated in Paphos, Cyprus. The second quake was felt around 4:40 p.m.

The Ma'ale Adumim Municipality announced that a mild earthquake was also felt in the Jerusalem area this afternoon.

Seismological institutes reported in the afternoon an earthquake measuring 5.2-5.4, measured near the village of Konya, near Paphos, and then a 5.9 magnitude tremor, also in the Cyprus area.
