Yaakov Wider, a member of the Bnei Brak City Council and chairman of the Likud faction, officially contacted the police, demanding that the public receive an update on the status of the complaint he filed against the mayor of Bnei Brak and senior municipal officials, on suspicion of serious mismanagement of public funds.

Vider filed the complaint three months ago, but according to him - and from information he was given unofficially - none of those involved in the affair have been summoned, examined, or questioned so far.

According to Wieder, the complaint includes significant materials and documents relating to the misuse of public funds. He said, "The prolonged delay raises real concerns about the damage to public trust in the legal and enforcement systems.""

In the official letter he sent to the police, Vider wrote: "I filed the complaint on behalf of the residents of Bnei Brak, and the expectation is for professional and prompt treatment, especially when it comes to serious suspicions in the area of moral integrity. The passage of time may impair the ability of the investigation and make it difficult to ascertain the truth. The public deserves answers.""

Wider is asking the police, among other things: a systematic update on actions taken so far, if any, who the officer or investigator in charge of the investigation is, and clarification of whether an active investigation has been opened.

The police have not yet responded.
