New York City Mayor-elect Zoharan Mamadani sent a direct message today (Wednesday) on the Satmar community line to the thousands of Hasidic Jews living in the 'Red Apple'.

Mamdani promised: "I will stand by you all the way, both on the most pressing issue, which is the education decree, and in helping parents who go to work with payment for daycare centers, and also budgets for Torah institutions in the city.".

He said that he also stands by the Haredi community in all matters related to anti-Semitism in the city.

The data shows that large percentages of the Satmar Hasidim community in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn voted for the mayor - a Muslim who supports Hamas and hates Israel.

The Satmar community, on the other hand, claims, while burying their heads in the sand: "Our voters sanctified God, showed that there is no war between Muslims and Jews in the entire world.".

In contrast to Satmar, there is deep concern among hundreds of thousands of New York Jews. Mamdani's meteoric rise is seen by many as a real danger. His harsh criticism of Israel, which he accused of committing "genocide," and his statement that he cannot support an official Jewish state "that grants preferential rights to Jews," are raising red flags.

Concerns are growing amid a worrying increase in anti-Semitic incidents in the city, and the feeling that Mamdani's positions could only escalate tensions and weaken protection for the community.
