Former senior police officer Dubi Scherzer revealed in testimony he gave in the 'Netanyahu Trial' the identity of the police officer who claimed that the police exceeded their authority during the handling of the 'Netanyahu cases' - police investigator Tzachi Chavkin, a senior member of the investigation team.

In an interview he gave today (Sunday) to Kalman Libeskind and Assaf Lieberman on Channel 2, Scherzer spoke about the warnings regarding flaws in the investigation into the "Netanyahu cases" and the disregard on the part of the prosecution.

""So the facts are these: Chavkin came and said that there were improper, illegal matters in the prime minister's files. He did not commit any criminal offense, and he is asking to refer us, the Intelligence Service, to these materials so that we can check them," Scherzer said - explaining that he did not ask him about the substance of the allegations due to the "sensitivity" of the case.

Scherzer received the information from Habkin, and worked to verify it within the Intelligence Department.

""I went to the intelligence officer at the Intelligence Directorate and I went to the deputy director of the department, who is currently MK Moshe Saada. They both told me: 'Not within our authority, not within our responsibility, talk to the director of the Intelligence Directorate,' Mrs. Keren Bar Menachem.

""I turned to the foundation, I told her, 'Listen, this is the situation, instructions, what do we do?' Instead of checking the information, seeing what is being done, and giving organized instructions - she decided again not to check or handle this case. She told me the immortal sentence that the honorable police officer, who has a duty to report, will write a letter with his name and rank, and we will check.

""Retired Deputy Commissioner Chavkin talks about the fact that he receives the material from the Securities and Exchange Authority, because that's where the case began, and when he received the case, he recognizes that Ilan Yeshua, who is an involved partner and a central part of the offense, was not questioned at all with a warning. And he draws the attention of his managers to this fact, and he receives a response: 'This is what the Attorney General decided.' This is a serious mistake.".

Scherzer attacked the prosecutor's office, which he claims does not address warnings regarding flaws in the investigation: "What saddens me most of all is the fact that the prosecutor's office is not considering a recalculation of the route, as would happen in any other criminal case. There is no way that a criminal case in this situation in court would not be reconsidered. And here the prosecutor's office is not only not recalculating the route, it continues to lie and continues to present me and MK Saada as people who are lying and making up stories.".

""You start with the fact that the beginning of this case, that the case manager and the investigation director, claims that the suspect Benjamin Netanyahu's entourage fabricated a case for him. This is absurd, this is unthinkable - and yet, nothing happened to anyone. He continues to be responsible for the case.

""It continues with information coming in that the police concealed, a year and a half late, regarding other events in the case involving Judy Nir Mozes and Avi Rotenberg. And what happened to this information? Does the public have any idea? What happened is that the prosecution thwarted the investigation and the examination. Thwarted it.

""Now, MK Saada and I did not stand by. We filed a complaint with the commissioner who inspects the prosecutor's office, Rosen. Do you know what his decision was? That the complaint was justified. Do you think something happened?""
