Tragedy in Beit Shemesh: The late Yehuda Cohen, 15 years old from Beit Shemesh, who fell from a great height on Friday in a residential building on Rabbi Eliezer Street in the Ramat Beit Shemesh B neighborhood, died on Saturday night from his injuries.

The boy was taken to Shaare Zedek Hospital in critical condition, and to the dismay of his family, the doctors had no choice but to pronounce him dead.

The incident occurred on Friday at 4:08 p.m., when emergency services received a report of a teenager who had fallen from a great height. Rescue teams called to the scene found the teenager unconscious with multiple systemic injuries.

MDA paramedics Elia Binyamin and Kobi Lizarovich said: "We arrived at the scene and saw a teenager lying unconscious near the building, with multiple systemic injuries. A civilian performed life-saving measures on him during a briefing at the 101 hotline. We continued the medical treatment and put him in the ambulance, and urgently evacuated him to the trauma room.".

Akiva Glendauer and Yosef Trisman, United Hatzalah paramedics, added: "We provided him with medical treatment at the scene and he was taken to the hospital suffering from injuries to his head and limbs.".

Police at the Beit Shemesh police station have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

Mayor Shmuel Greenberg worked with the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office to release the young man's body for burial, without the need for an autopsy.

His funeral will take place tonight (at Shabbat in New York) at Mount Hamunehot, where he will be buried.

The deceased's father, who resides in the US, is expected to attend the funeral remotely via live broadcast.
