The 8-month-old baby died this morning at the Assuta Medical Center in Ashdod - she had suffocated in her home two days ago from a piece of toy that she swallowed and blocked her windpipe.
Despite the efforts of rescue teams and medical teams to save her life, to the family's heart's content, she passed away.
The teams that arrived at the family's home found the baby unconscious. The medical teams removed a small piece of toy from her throat, which had caused a complete blockage of her trachea.
The baby was evacuated while undergoing CPR and in critical condition to Assuta in Ashdod.
MDA Rescue South driver Eliezer Shtisel, who arrived at the scene along with drivers Hagai Cohen, Moshe Dweik and David Elmaleh, said: "When I arrived at the scene, I noticed a 7-month-old baby girl unconscious. Together with the other drivers, we began CPR, and during the CPR I noticed that her trachea was blocked. After a brief examination, I noticed a foreign object stuck in her trachea and pulled it out while we continued CPR.".
This morning, as mentioned, despite the efforts of the medical teams, the heart attack was declared over.
