Maran HaGard Lando spoke this evening (Thursday) at a gathering of yeshiva students in the Arena Hall in Jerusalem - and addressed the war against the Torah world and the role of yeshiva students.
""Those who try to oppress Torah students, if they were allowed to dwell in the tents of Torah, if they were allowed to taste the nectar of its words and delight in the pastures of the Torah, would not be able to think of their plots, and only because of their distance from the Torah, which is the source of all good in the world, do they plot evil against the world of Torah? May God quickly thwart their plans," said the Maran Rosh HaYishiva.
""Outside, the winds of war against the world of Torah continue, agitated and raging. When your enemies raise their heads against your people, they will tell a secret. But you, the sons of the yeshiva, imitate Hashem and become His, ignore them, their money, and their circumcision. Carry the gates of the world and the King of Glory will come. Continue your Talmud with greater intensity and strength. Wake up and attend the Beit Midrash for them, and they are your instruments.".
The head of the yeshiva added: "Yeshiva students, the crown of creation, the sustainers of the world! Know your great role, be wise and understand the precious validity of your mission, guard with all due care what you have earned, and therefore, you must sanctify the name of God in all your processions, adhere to the Torah and their morals, and preserve the tradition of the yeshiva without any change whatsoever, including even in things that seem minor, and especially in the form of clothing and style of speech, distance yourself from all external influences that are deteriorating from one degree to another, maintain your sublime status, live a life of Torah all your days, increase Torah and holiness in the world, and thanks to them, the redemption of the worlds will soon be complete.".

Yeshiva head Rabbi Hirsch also spoke at the event in the Arena: "Today, the problem is that there is no contradiction between a Torah scholar and hedonism. A Torah scholar dresses everything according to modernity, and these things are out of the question. There are groups that are immersed in learning but also immersed in pleasures. There are groups that are interested in money, in business, everything is a contradiction to 'knowing your name' - and this is not what God wants.".
""There is measure against measure, as soon as there is no 'Yodhet-Sham' (Know Your Name) there is less divine help, and that is why the great disaster occurred when young men were taken to prison because they studied Torah. And this is what we need to fix, and not just fix but make a turnaround, and all the new methods that exist - everything is null and void, and we all need to discuss how the measures are, how our prayer is, whether we think what the Lord of the world wants.".
We need to invest in morality, every yeshiva student needs to invest in it, it's not difficult, and then we will be able to stand strong against those who stand against us, and God, the Almighty, will help us to continue to grow and sanctify the name of heaven, and in any case, the complete redemption will soon be in our days, Amen.
