Defense Minister Yisrael Katz made it clear this morning (Sunday) that after the phase of returning the hostages from the accursed organization, Israel will face a new strategic mission - eliminating the entire Hamas tunnel network in the Gaza Strip.
Katz wrote: "Israel's great challenge after the stage of returning the hostages will be the destruction of all Hamas terror tunnels in Gaza directly by the IDF and through the international mechanism that will be established under the leadership and supervision of the US.".
According to him, this is about realizing a basic principle that was agreed upon - the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip and the disarmament of Hamas. "This is the main meaning of realizing the agreed upon principle of demilitarization of Gaza and the disarmament of Hamas," he wrote.
Katz added that he had instructed the IDF to prepare to carry out the mission in the near future, as part of overall preparations for the phase after the return of the abductees. "I have instructed the IDF to prepare to carry out the mission," he wrote.
