And rejoice in your holidays: Volunteers from the Galilee-Carmel rescue unit were dispatched this evening (Thursday) to an urgent rescue event on Mount Meron, following a report from the field about a family trapped in the dark.

The drama began at 7:30 p.m., when the unit received a call about a large family from Jerusalem, who was stranded in the Neriah Lookout area of the Mount Meron Reserve.

The family, consisting of 12 people, including young children and a two-month-old baby, went on a trip to the area. As darkness fell, the family found themselves in distress, exposed to rain, cold, and without water.

A rescue team quickly arrived on the scene. The rescuers were equipped with appropriate equipment, including flashlights, warm, dry clothing, and hot drinks, in order to immediately assist the family, especially the baby.

The rescue team joined the family and provided them with first aid, including warming them up.

""Travelers are urged to pay attention to weather changes, to prepare in advance for trips that last into the hours of darkness, and to always stock up on water, warm equipment, and flashlights," the Galilee-Carmel Rescue Unit says.
