Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this evening (Tuesday) at a cabinet meeting that Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer will soon end his position.
We bring to you what has been missing for so many years. Won't you take it? • Previously
Netanyahu said: "It is worth appreciating what he did because he will soon end his role. He will 'stick around' to take care of a few things.".
Dermer, who is considered Netanyahu's right-hand man, serves, among other things, as the person responsible for negotiating the release of the hostages.
He is a native of the United States, and previously served as Israel's ambassador to Washington. During his tenure, the Abraham Accords were signed, brokered by President Trump.
Ariel Kahane, the political commentator for Israel Hayom, wrote in a post he published on the X network:
Netanyahu at the cabinet meeting says the work Ron Dermer has done should be appreciated. He confirmed that Dermer will leave soon but noted that he will continue as a representative who handles several things.
What has Ron Dermer achieved in his various roles?
• Organized Netanyahu's historic nuclear speech against the 2015 nuclear deal that paved the way for an attack on nuclear facilities in 2025.
• Perfect and secret coordination with the US of the attack against Iran.
• The only ambassador in Washington to host the US President at the embassy (Obama).
• The only ambassador in Washington to host the Vice President of the United States at the embassy (Biden).
• The largest security assistance agreement ever with the US.
• Abraham Accords (i.e. establishing relations with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco (renewal) and Sudan (which did not come into effect due to an internal war there)).
• A rapprochement between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
• American willingness to recognize Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.
• An excellent ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, centered on American backing (during the Biden era!) for the constant crushing of Hezbollah by Israel.
• An agreement (not yet implemented) to return all the hostages and end the war in Gaza with an Israeli victory.
• An open door and great respect among the top American administrations, including a personal connection with Trump.
• Countless secret missions around the world.
• Countless interviews with the toughest interviewers in favor of Israel.
And what did Dermer get in return?
• From those who know him, and there are many, he received enormous appreciation. That's all they could give the man.
• On the other hand, from people consumed with hatred and jealousy, he received slander, slander, harassment, and harm to his wife and children, which probably broke him.
Shame on them. The loss is both theirs and ours.
