On the eve of the holiday, police officers at the Kiryat Gat police station arrested a city resident in his 40s after he entered the police station and threatened the officers that he intended to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The suspect told the police that he intended to purchase a gun and shoot the Prime Minister three times.

The police arrested the suspect at the scene and he was questioned at the police station, and at the end of his interrogation he was imprisoned.

His detention was extended by the court at the request of the police.

Today, the police prosecution unit is expected to file an indictment against him in a speedy procedure and request his detention until the end of the proceedings.
