Data from Sheba - the developer and administrator of the national debit card payment system - indicates that the Israeli public is taking advantage of the eve of the holiday, since the morning hours (Monday), to make large purchases.

Mashaba reported that the peak moment in spending this morning was at 10:57, when over 17,300 transactions were made for an amount of more than 3.39 million shekels.

According to the data, between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m., the public spent over NIS 446.77 million. This is an increase of NIS 5.613 million compared to the amount of spending recorded last year on Rosh Hashanah Eve, when spending between 8:00 and 11:00 was NIS 422.93 million.

On Rosh Hashanah Eve 2014, the amount of spending during these hours amounted to 378.39 million shekels.
