The organizations that assist young Haredi men who have been defined as 'deserters' are concluding ahead of Rosh Hashanah: About 100 Haredi deserters are being detained today - the eve of the holiday - in the military prison, the vast majority of them 'deserters' with a warrant to prevent them from leaving the country who were arrested at Ben Gurion Airport, on their way to the memorial of Rabbi Nachman in Uman.

In recent days, dozens of young Haredi men, who were declared "deserters" following the cancellation of the status of yeshiva students, have been detained and handed over to the military police.

In recent days they were tried and some were released.

MK Meir Porush responded: "I call on the judicial and military authorities to come to their senses and release the detained yeshiva students at least for Rosh Hashanah.".

""The situation in which more than 100 observant Jews sat in military prison on Rosh Hashanah after listening to the voice of their rabbis is disgraceful and shameful for the Jewish people.

""I urge the Attorney General, it is not too late to repent, and prevent an explosion between brothers.".

According to a report on Channel 12, dozens of ultra-Orthodox 'defectors' are expected to be released tomorrow as part of the 'Rosh Hashanah amnesty.' According to a report on Channel 12, anyone who was tried and whose sentence ends by the 30th of the month and has already served half of their detention will be released on Rosh Hashanah Eve in the 'Rosh Hashanah amnesty.'.
