Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir toured today (Monday) an observation point over the village from which the terrorists who carried out the murderous attack at the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem emerged.

During the tour, which was conducted together with the Commander of the Central Command, Major General Avi Balut, the Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brigadier General Kobi Heller, the Commander of the Binyamin Brigade, and other commanders, a situation assessment was held on the latest operational developments.

The Chief of Staff clarified: "We are here after a very serious attack in the heart of Jerusalem. I have ordered a complete closure of the area from which the terrorists emerged. We will continue with a determined and ongoing operational and intelligence effort, we will pursue the nests of terror everywhere and thwart the terror infrastructure and its organizers. We must learn, investigate and draw lessons.".

Zamir noted that the IDF is in the midst of an intensive day of activity in all sectors, while expanding the operation to defeat Hamas.

Regarding the neutralization of the terrorists by two Abrechs and a Hasmonaean fighter, he said: "The terrorist was neutralized by an IDF fighter from the Hasmonaean Brigade and another civilian. This is an example of the operational edge expected of IDF fighters. Great appreciation for the composure and striving for contact they demonstrated.".
