The main combat recruitment for the September cycle for the designated tracks for members of the Haredi public in the IDF began yesterday (Monday) - and as part of the first recruitment day, 240 young people defined as 'Haredi' joined service in the Haredi tracks in the IDF.
The new soldiers - including Chabad members and knitted kippahs - were assigned to a variety of tracks and units, allowing them to serve in a meaningful way.

Details of the combat routes:
Over the next two weeks, ultra-Orthodox recruitment drives will take place, with an emphasis on the relevant combat routes, and the numbers are expected to be updated.
The IDF statement said: "The IDF will continue to work to expand the recruitment of members of the Haredi public, while ensuring that their lifestyle is maintained throughout the entire period of service and adapting the conditions of service to their needs.".
However, we should remember that until now, the IDF has repeatedly violated the trust of the ultra-Orthodox public - and has not kept its promises.
