A Syrian military source told the Qatari Al Jazeera channel that the IDF has landed forces at a military base in Al-Kiswa in the southern suburbs of Damascus.
According to the Al Jazeera report, four helicopters and two fighter jets arrived at the same military base in Al-Kiswa on the outskirts of Damascus. The helicopters landed dozens of soldiers, apparently special forces, who brought with them several heavy vehicles and conducted a search of the base.
The forces remained on site for two hours and then left the same way.
The fighter jets "prepared the way" for the helicopters and prevented Syrian forces from reaching the scene. It was also reported that there was no fighting between Syrian forces and the IDF.
Yesterday, in another attack attributed to Israel in the same area, six members of the Syrian regime's security forces were killed.
According to a report on SYRIA TV, yesterday's attack near Al-Kiswa was at a point where listening devices were placed that the Syrian army personnel tried to dismantle, and as a result of the attack they were killed.
IDF aircraft and UAVs only made it possible to extract the bodies of the Syrian army members this afternoon. Today's attacks and the commando operation were in a nearby location.
IDF response: "We do not comment on foreign events.".
Defense Minister Yisrael Katz responded this morning: "Our forces are operating in all theaters of war day and night for the security of Israel.".
Earlier, fighters from the Golan Brigade under the command of Division 210 completed several raids to locate weapons, and to arrest and interrogate suspects in southern Syria. In simultaneous searches of various targets, the forces located weapons depots in which RPG missiles, IEDs, Kalashnikov-type weapons, and a large amount of ammunition were hidden.
The suspects were arrested by the forces in cooperation with field investigators from Unit 504, following intelligence indications collected in recent weeks.
