The Lavi Association - Civil Rights, Proper Administration and Encouraging Settlement, submitted a detailed and reasoned request to the High Court of Justice, to join the petitions in the process of removing the Legal Advisor to the Government, and to argue that the removal is justified and necessitated by reality.
Today (Sunday) the Supreme Court rejected the request and referred to the decision of August 12, in which it rejected previous requests, among other things, due to "the large number of petitions and litigants in the proceedings.".
The Lavi organization says: "The numerous petitions seek - all of them - to argue against the removal of the legal advisor to the government. With so many arguing against the removal, there is no room left to hear even one organization in favor of the removal.".
""Furthermore, the court even accepted Attorney Baharav-Miara's takeover of the State Attorney's Office, in a clear conflict of interest, so that the latter will represent it, and not the government.".
In Lavia they added: "The hearing that will take place on September 3rd will be one-sided. The position that claims that Attorney Bahar-Miara needs to be removed from her position, which is held by a huge public, will not be heard in the hearing.".
""A court that chooses to conduct such a sensitive and publicly important proceeding unilaterally risks its ruling ultimately lacking the required public legitimacy.".
