'The Breslav Union in Uman, which manages the Zion complex of Rabbi Nachman, is unveiling an unprecedented renovation project, costing over $2 million, designed to transform the face of Rabbi Nachman's tomb complex.
The program, which will be launched during the winter of 2016, will allow those who come to Uman all year round to pray in peace, comfort and tranquility, without overcrowding or disturbances.
The renovation plan covers an area of 1,800 square meters, and includes a host of improvements and innovations that will provide a solution to problems that have plagued worshippers there for years.
The Breslav Union explains that what motivates them is the desire to upgrade the holy place so that every prayer in Zion will be better and the settlement of the mind will be greater.
The project includes a number of significant improvements to the tomb of Rabbi Nachman, including:
New Women's Aid: After two decades in which a temporary women's center operated, a permanent, spacious, and dignified women's center will be established, which will allow the public of women who visit the place to pray for Zion under acceptable conditions.
Priestly Purification: During the renovation, special solutions were implemented that will allow priests to stay in the Holy Land without fear of the impurity of the dead.
Separate halls: The renovation series will build three new prayer halls in the Zion complex: an Ashkenazi prayer hall, a Sephardic prayer hall, and another hall that will be allocated according to changing needs, in order to prevent disruptions as much as possible.
Dance Hall: In order not to disturb worshippers in Zion, a designated and spacious place will be allocated for dancing and clapping, as the Breslov Hasidim practice according to the advice of Rabbi Nachman.
Prayer leaders in designated areas: A new order will be introduced in place, which will allow each worshiper to pray next to the holy site itself without crowding, while separating from the prayer services that currently take place in the site, which also serves as a synagogue.
Logistical solutions: A well-organized place for refreshment will be established, with a coffee/tea corner and light refreshments. Also, for the first time, well-organized restrooms for women will be built.

One of the activists of the 'Breslav Union in Uman' commented on the project: "This program is being launched for the sake of the tens of thousands of worshipers who visit the tomb of Rabbi Nachman. Our goal is to enable every Jew, wherever he may be, to come to the tomb of Rabbi Nachman and concentrate on prayer without interruptions, and to enable him to carry out Rabbi Nachman's advice with a clear mind.
""We set out after coordinating with the various parties and, in particular, after a careful inspection to ensure that there would be no harm to the graves of the saints buried there, God forbid.".
One of the veteran Breslov Hasidim: "This is a dramatic project. For many years we have witnessed the difficulties and limitations that worshipers have faced. This renovation project is nothing less than a revolution, and it will allow everyone to make the most of their stay in the holy site and engage in Torah and prayer without interruption.".
The Breslov Congregation hopes that the project will get underway immediately during the winter of 2016, and great efforts will be made to complete it as quickly as possible, so that it will be worthy of serving the tens of thousands of worshipers who come to the site from all over the world throughout the year.
