In the mandate poll published last night on Channel 12, Benny Gantz's party did not pass the threshold - after failing to pass in previous polls by Shlomo Filber on Channel 14.
This is a dramatic decline, especially following the fact that at the beginning of the war, Gantz led in the polls - and in some cases, he rose to more than 35 seats.
Political commentator Amit Segal analyzed Gantz's situation and the options he faces in the studio this evening (Monday).
Segal: "I think he's very worried. Miracles don't happen twice. The last time they talked about a crash was different - now it's crossing a red line.".
Segal claimed that the danger of being close to the blocking percentage is particularly serious: "Anyone who is close to the blocking percentage will be in trouble, even if he has six seats. Gantz cannot wait for the elections – he will have to get out of the crisis now.".
When asked what possible political connections he had, the commentator ruled out almost all of them - and presented two main options: "One option - to run for president in two years. In my opinion, his chances of being elected are very high, he is exactly the figure people want to see there.".
And the second option? "To continue trying to market the idea of unity, which is the only product that no one else in the political system has." Alongside this, Segal emphasized the central problem: "This grocery store of unity - people are already tired of it. The question is whether this product is still worth its value.".
