In the city of Obninsk in the Kaluga region of Russia, located about 100 kilometers southwest of Moscow, an attempt was made last night (Wednesday) to set fire to the synagogue.
An initial police investigation indicates that at least three bottles containing a flammable mixture were thrown into the synagogue building.
Damage was caused to the main entrance of the building.
About a year ago, they also tried to set the synagogue building on fire - and then the electrical panel burned down. The police arrested two minors at that time.
