Coastal District police from the Haifa station arrested a 52-year-old suspect, a resident of Migdal, on suspicion of committing serious crimes and sexual harassment against several children, girls and women in the heart of an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood in Haifa.
Today (Tuesday), a prosecutor's statement was filed against him, and an indictment and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings are expected to be filed.
The arrest was made after Haifa police officers opened an investigation about two weeks ago, after receiving a complaint about a suspect who committed indecent acts and harassment in front of passersby, including children aged 3-12 and women, in the heart of an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood.

Haifa Police Station forces quickly arrived at the scene, arrested the suspect, and began investigating and collecting evidence.
The investigation material indicates that on that day, the suspect committed a series of serious offenses and harassment against several minors, including another incident in which he approached a 6-year-old girl and harassed her.
During a rapid police investigation, the suspect's identity was revealed and he was arrested for questioning, at the end of which he was imprisoned.
The suspect's detention was extended from time to time. Upon completion of all investigative activities, the police were able to establish an evidentiary foundation against the suspect and prove the commission of the offenses.
As mentioned, a statement of claim was submitted to the court against the suspect by the prosecutor's office - which is expected to file an indictment accompanied by a request to detain him until the end of the proceedings.
