The Ministry of Transportation is currently conducting an inter-ministerial preparation process, led by the ministry's Director General, Moshe Ben Zaken, in preparation for the trip of tens of thousands of Breslov Hasidim to commemorate Rabbi Nachman in Uman on Rosh Hashanah.

This is due to the fact that it is currently not possible to land in Ukraine, and arrival is via neighboring countries - including Moldova, Romania, and Poland, which border Ukraine.

The discussion was attended by MK Eliyahu Revivo, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the Airports Authority, and representatives of the Breslov Hasidic Order, with the aim of working with the authorities of Moldova, Poland, and Romania to allow designated landing and conversion windows for the benefit of the flying public, to approve the stay of Israeli aircraft on the ground, and to regulate the entry of stewards on behalf of the Breslov Hasidic Order in the target countries.

The ministry's announcement stated that "the Ministry of Transportation sees great importance in ensuring appropriate travel conditions for the traveling public, and is acting responsibly and in cooperation with all parties to ensure a coordinated, safe and trouble-free journey, unlike in previous years."

Director General of the Ministry of Transportation, Moshe Ben Zaken: "I bring here the clear words of the Minister of Transportation, who is leading the issue closely out of a deep commitment to the praying public and its right to move freely and safely. There will be no tolerance for delays or obstacles from transit countries.

"If citizens of the State of Israel are prevented from passing properly, we will act to the same extent and in the same language. We will not accept compromises for our worshipers. On the other side, we must understand that what is important to them is also important to us, and the approach will be symmetrical."

MK Eliyahu Revivo: "I expect and hope that the Foreign Minister will also speak in the same tone and take a determined and clear approach. With such leadership courage, we will be able to overcome all the challenges facing us. This is a serious, purposeful and meaningful conversation, and I am happy to take part in it. This is a fundamental right of Israeli citizens, and we must not give up the state's responsibility to ensure them a safe, orderly and respectful journey."
