A 35-year-old man was killed this evening (Monday) on the grounds of Shamir-Assaf Harofeh Hospital, after a heavy tree fell on him for a reason that has not yet been clarified.

The incident took place inside the hospital compound.
The man was accompanying his wife, who had arrived at the hospital for her birth. When he went out to get her water, while he was in the open area, the tree suddenly collapsed on him.
Fire and Rescue reported that firefighters who were called to the scene worked to rescue him from under the tree using hydraulic tools and specialized rescue equipment.
The medical personnel who arrived at the scene were forced to declare him dead.
ZAKA Central District volunteers are working at the scene, treating the deceased with dignity and collecting the remains.
Shamir Assaf the doctor: "With great sadness, we are updating that in a tragic incident that occurred today on the hospital grounds, part of a tree collapsed and hit a person, who was killed as a result of the impact.
Security teams and the medical center immediately arrived at the scene, and the circumstances are being thoroughly investigated by the relevant authorities.
"We share in the family's grief and express deep sorrow for the difficult event."
