The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories today (Monday) revealed the lies behind Hamas' "starvation" campaign - and responded to a tweet circulated on social media claiming that Israel is responsible for "starving" 5-year-old boy Osama a-Raqab from Gaza.

In the photo, which went viral and was widely shared around the world, the child is seen in serious health condition, and it is claimed that his condition is caused by "hunger in Gaza caused by Israeli activity."

The Coordinator of Government Activities wrote: "The photo is used to spread lies against Israel. The truth is that Osama suffers from a serious genetic disease that is not related to the war."

He noted that on June 12, the child's departure from the Gaza Strip through the Ramon Crossing was coordinated, along with his mother and brother - and he is currently staying in Italy and receiving medical treatment.

The coordinator wrote: "Tragic images rightly evoke strong emotions, but when they are exploited to spread hatred and lies - they cause greater harm. Don't let your compassion be a tool in the hands of propaganda. Check the facts before spreading accusations."

In the context of the false campaign, it should be noted that before the war, an average of 73 food and aid trucks were brought into the Strip every day, and today about 80 are being brought in.

Additionally, almost all (if not all) of the "hunger" photos from Gaza show morbidly emaciated children alongside healthy parents - and there is no such thing as "selective hunger."
