Police announced Saturday afternoon that after a two-day manhunt, Arkan Khaled, the terrorist involved in the car bombing at the entrance to Kfar Yona last Thursday, was arrested. The suspect was captured at a construction site in the area, while on a crane.
He is suspected of running over and injuring 11 people at the entrance to Kfar Yona, including nine soldiers, who suffered minor to moderate injuries.
The suspect was caught in the area where the vehicle he used to carry out the carjacking attack was located, before abandoning it and fleeing on foot.
Police Commissioner Danny Levy wanted to thank the commander of the Central District, Superintendent Yair Hetzroni, the hundreds of police officers, Border Guard soldiers, volunteers, standby squads and other security forces, for the many efforts, determination and striving for contact, which led to the arrest of the suspect. "I saw your determination during the three days up close and there is no one more proud of you than me, for standing up to the task in the intense heat and for many hours," he said.

The Kfar Yona municipality announced the capture of the terrorist to residents: "Dear residents, the terrorist who carried out the car-ramming attack has been captured. Mayor Albert Taib would like to thank the Israel Police, the Shin Bet, the emergency squad and all our volunteers who have been engaged in strenuous searches since the morning of the incident."
Minister of National Security, MK Itamar Ben-Gvir, responded: "They called them 'Ben-Gvir's militias,' but once again the alert classes that I established are proving - for the umpteenth time - that they are vital and save lives."
"Today, in a determined and professional action, volunteers from the readiness squads, together with Border Police forces, captured the terrorist who carried out the attack in Kfar Yona, during proactive searches in the field. I will continue to strengthen them, back them up, and give them all the tools to protect the citizens of Israel. Great strength to all those involved in the work."
