US President Trump again addressed the impasse in negotiations with the murderous terrorist organization Hamas this afternoon (Friday).
"I always said that it would be the most difficult to release the 10-20 hostages. Hamas blew the deal. I always said that when we get to the last hostages, Hamas will never be willing to make a deal," he said.
"We have reached the point where we need to finish the work with Hamas. The Israelis will have to fight and clear the area. We will have to get rid of Hamas, I talked to Netanyahu about that."
Trump hinted at imminent assassinations. "Hamas didn't really want a deal. I think they're going to hunt them down."
Trump also referred to French President Macron's statement on a Palestinian state, saying it was unimportant.
Earlier, Netanyahu wrote in English: "Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff was right. Hamas is the obstacle to the release of the hostages."
He said, "Together with our ally, we are now considering alternative options to return our hostages home, end Hamas' reign of terror, and ensure peace for Israel and our region."
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich responded to Netanyahu in a post on X: "The humiliating negotiation ceremony with terrorists is over" - and addressed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "Now is the time for victory!"
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier convened a small cabinet meeting to discuss developments in the talks on the hostage deal. Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, as well as ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir, participated in the discussion. Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri were absent from the meeting.
