Yitzhak Pindros, a former MK from the Torah Banner, attacked today (Friday) on the B channel the storm-provoking remarks of MK Yitzhak Goldknopf from Agudat Yisrael in an interview with Makor Rishon.
In an interview with Makor Rishon's political correspondent Akiva Weiss, the MK from Hassidut Gur said about religious Zionism: "Their pain will be with them and our pain will be with us. Don't bring me your pain and pass it on to me. Let's decide that everyone has their own package."
Pindarus said: "I cannot accept these words, this thing. Not only me, I have been receiving calls since this morning from important rabbis and from people who are hurting.
"It's the most elementary thing to identify with the pain, even if we have an ideological debate, even if there are legitimate discussions, but I'm not willing to accept these things. The Haredi public is not willing to accept these things, it hurts the pain and feels it and appreciates and thanks all the families and soldiers for their contribution and shares in their pain."
To the interviewer's question, Pindaros replied: "I don't know why he expressed himself like that. I don't speak for him, but I'm expressing my opinion as someone who grew up and knows our sector, and I've also received calls from very important rabbis, public leaders who think so."
In an interview, Goldknopf made it clear that the Haredi parties will go with anyone who can meet their demands.
When the former minister was asked: One of the editors at the newspaper where I work, 44 years old and a father of five, is going on reserve duty next week until after the holidays, leaving home and everything. Do you understand the pain?" - Goldknopf replied: "I don't understand, I didn't decide he should leave. If this person decided this was his path and he wants to leave, then he leaves."
Isn't this a war of commandments?
Goldknopf: "I was told there are 100,000 evasors in Tel Aviv, in the Dan bloc."
Regarding sending the warrants and the fear of arrests, he said: "I do not suggest to anyone to arrest yeshiva students. This would cause a shock in the people of Israel and the entire world. I do not suggest to anyone in the State of Israel to act in these ways. This is breaking all conventions and crossing a red line."
Regarding the sanctions against the Haredi public, he said: "If there is no choice and they have to leave the country - then they will leave the country. There will be a country without Haredim. The Haredim will not change their way of life because there is an army and war. There is an army, and there are also those who will go to the army. If you say you are short 50,000 soldiers, take the ones who are evading. I'm not talking about Haredim."
