A commotion at the 'Wolfson' yeshiva in Jerusalem - one of the flagship yeshivahs of the Lithuanian world.
According to a report by Yoeli Barim on Channel 13, three students from the yeshiva announced their decision to enlist in the IDF - a move that led to an emergency meeting held yesterday at the yeshiva.
Two of the young men are expected to join the "Kodkod" program, a track designed for programming and software development in the IDF, while another young man will likely enlist for combat service.
The news surprised the yeshiva heads and student members.
During the emergency meeting at the yeshiva, the head of the yeshiva, Rabbi Daniel Wolfson, expressed his strong protest to the students, along with deep sorrow and pain over his students' decision to leave the yeshiva.
In the conversation, the yeshiva head stated that there is no program in the army that allows for maintaining the Haredi lifestyle.
