Yoeli Brim, the Haredi reporter for News 13, went to Bnei Brak to report on the expected operation to arrest draft evaders - and spoke with the students of the Ponevezh yeshiva about their attitude towards the army and the question of conscription.
"There is no narration in the article," Barim noted on social media. "We only came to voice - and these are the voices. The huge gap is evident between the discourse in the Knesset and the media about promoting equality in burden, and what the Haredi public on the ground thinks."
"It's important for me to note," he added, "that the article was filmed at both meetings. Both in the 'terrorists' faction (the Jerusalem faction) and in the 'Shweinaim' faction (the mainstream). You have to miss a lot to not understand that these two groups have become very close to each other in the last two years. So close that there are viewers here who are sure that these are only the young people of the Jerusalem faction."
"This is the truth," concluded Barim, "these are the voices in the Haredi area. Not everything is PR and 'processes that happen' that are fun to sell in studios."
