Lieberman: "Eizenkot is a respected person. We are in a free country. He has the full right to make decisions alone, we will respect every decision. Among all the parties in the Change Bloc, everyone has proven that they know how to rise above their ego. Any soldier who doesn't want to be Chief of Staff is not a good soldier. Every soldier must strive to be Chief of Staff, here too, rightly so, people with experience."
When asked if he would be willing to give up the premiership, he replied: "Absolutely, yes. Right now the question is who brings in more seats. We don't have a direct election. We vote for parties, and what's important is to ensure that the Change Bloc brings in the maximum number of seats. The question is always whether running together will bring in more seats or fewer. What we've seen so far is that joining or running together brings in fewer seats than running separately.
"If they say, 'Let's unite, the entire bloc,' I don't think people who vote for Yair Golan want to vote for Lieberman and vice versa. First of all, the bloc needs to ensure that it brings in 63-64 seats. We're close to getting there."
Lieberman attacked the government's conduct in the war in the Gaza Strip: "This government only a few months ago appointed Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Biden is no longer there, Trump also says that it needs to end immediately, and Zamir also says that the military move has exhausted itself. We need to return all the abductees in one fell swoop, we need to leave the Gaza Strip, and we need to conduct ourselves there exactly as we conduct ourselves vis-à-vis Lebanon."
He warned of hostile intentions on the part of the regime in Tehran: "The State of Israel must prepare differently. Decisions made in Iran - ceasing cooperation with the IAEA, meaning no more inspectors, nothing. They talk about restoring the nuclear program, they decided to produce and acquire 20,000 ballistic missiles.
"All the talk there is about a war of revenge, the destruction of the State of Israel as a central goal, and the entire leadership there, which consists of the ayatollahs, the Revolutionary Guards, have currently harnessed the entire country to just one issue - a war of revenge and the destruction of Israel. We don't have time for all the bickering between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Defense."
According to him, "We need a missile force."
