The war with Iran: The Carrefour chain, which has more than 140 branches with protected spaces throughout the cities, as well as Mehadrin branches within the Haredi neighborhoods, is issuing a reassuring message today (Monday), stating that despite increases of hundreds of percent in consumption, there is enough merchandise in the branches.
Since the beginning of the war, the Carrefour chain has reported a significant increase in shopping at branches within cities. As mentioned, the chain has over 140 branches, most of them in neighborhoods and close to home - which creates a sense of safety among consumers and allows customers to shop close to home.
Michael Lubsic, CEO of Carrefour: "Carrefour employees are working around the clock to fill the shortages that are created, among other things, due to increased consumer consumption. From the beginning of the campaign, the staff at the branches was increased to allow customers to stock up, and we extended the opening hours."
Lubsic explains that the Carrefour chain has 89 "Iron" branches - branches selected according to criteria set by the Ministry of Economy, including protection requirements, emergency operation capability, inventory, personnel, and generators. These branches are planned to remain open even if the situation worsens, even when other branches are forced to close.
He said, "Today, all Carrefour stores function as hardware stores. The hardware stores are prepared for any situation, and they have increased inventories. This is a supermarket chain that continues to operate as usual, with full responsibility to provide a solution to the Israeli consumer at all times."
