Liran Dan, who previously served as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's personal spokesman, served as the editor of "The Edition" on Channel 12 and held other senior positions. He currently serves as an unofficial advisor to Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, according to Channel 12 reporter Suleiman Masvade.
The IDF spokesman did not comment on the matter, while Liran Dan himself stated that he does not serve as an official advisor to the Chief of Staff.
Kan 11 quoted people familiar with the matter as indicating continuous contact between Liran and the Chief of Staff and that he assisted the Chief of Staff in drafting his messages. According to the report, some of the consultation conversations between the Chief of Staff and Liran Dan took place without the presence of Brigadier General Efi Dufferin, the IDF spokesman. Kan News says that the IDF spokesman also spoke with Liran and consulted with him.
