In less than 48 hours, the IDF destroyed almost everything that remained of the Syrian army - a hostile country with a history of severe wars against Israel.
Noam Amir, Channel 14's military commentator, believes that although it is not clear where Syria is headed in the post-Assad era, what is clear is that whoever ever takes control of the bleeding country will doubtless succeed in rebuilding the army that we are destroying in the coming years.
The IDF is careful not to brag about the achievement, but there is no doubt that such a military operation did not occur, and it is doubtful that anyone expected throughout the war that it would one day occur.
Operation 'Arrow of Bashan' • Documentation and data:
• Within 48 hours, the IDF attacked most of the strategic weapons depots in Syria, fearing that they would fall into the hands of terrorist elements.
• At sea: Last night, missile ships of the naval arm set out on an operation, during which the forces, using dozens of weapons, simultaneously attacked two Syrian Navy locations - in the port of Al Bayda and the port of Latakia, where 15 Syrian Navy vessels were anchored.
• Among the targets: dozens of sea-to-sea missiles with a range of between 80-190 kilometers, each carrying dozens of kilograms of explosives that threaten civilian and military vessels in space.
• From the air: The manned aircraft flew hundreds of hours over Syrian airspace and, together with the fighter jets, carried out over 350 airstrikes.
• Targets: A wide variety of anti-aircraft batteries were attacked, including from the sea, Syrian Air Force airports, and dozens of targets at various production sites in the Damascus, Homs, Tartus, Latakia, and Palmyra areas.
• These waves of attacks destroyed a large amount of weapons, including Scud missiles, cruise missiles, coastal missiles, surface-to-air missiles, surface-to-surface missiles, drones, fighter jets and attack helicopters, radars, tanks, hangars, and more.
• The Northern Command's fire center attacked more than 130 targets in Syrian territory with aircraft, including weapons depots, military buildings, launchers, and firing positions.
