Days of Mercy and Forgiveness: Ministry of Transportation Increases Service to the Western Wall

Efficiency and service improvement: With the beginning of the month of mercy and forgiveness, the Ministry of Transportation - through the National Public Transportation Authority, is increasing municipal service in Jerusalem in order to allow thousands of worshipers to reach the Western Wall. The move is being led by Deputy Minister Uri Maklev. In order to facilitate, municipal service will be extended until 2:00 a.m., and will begin operations in the early morning hours. Within this framework, special transportation lines will be operated: Line 111 will operate in the evening, Line 333 will operate from the Ramot junction, and the regular lines 1 and 3 will be increased. In addition, the 'Kfir' company, which operates the light rail in Jerusalem, will increase its operations according to demand. Within this framework, the hours of operation of the light rail in Jerusalem will be extended until 2:00 a.m., in order to allow thousands of passengers who wish to reach the remains of our Temple to offer prayer and supplication during the days of mercy and forgiveness. As every year, this year too the National Public Transportation Authority is increasing general urban service to various locations across the country, as needed - in accordance with the fixed schedule of the lines. The urban lines will provide service to synagogues and yeshivahs, if necessary, on the nights of Selichot to allow the crowds of Beit Yisrael to come and pour out their discourse.
