Gershon Allinson, the legendary photographer of Gush Etzion, died on Saturday at the age of 75, apparently from cardiac arrest.

His funeral will take place at midnight in the cemetery in Kfar Etzion.

Allinson, whose photographs were distributed by Flash90, documented Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria for over 45 years.

This week, he even managed to document the funeral of Elyakim Libman, who was murdered at the Nova Festival on Simchat Torah, which took place in Hebron.

In addition to being a photographer who documented Jewish settlement, he was one of the first settlers in the city of Hebron, as one of the operators of the Settlers' Restaurant, the first settler structure approved by the government.

The head of the Gush Etzion Council, Yaron Rosenthal, paid tribute to him: "On Saturday, our friend, photographer Gershon Allinson, from the Efrat settlers, passed away. Gershon was the photographer who accompanied the settlement in Judea almost from its very beginning. He documented the beginning of settlement in the ancestral city, settled in Efrat and accompanied it from its establishment, and attended every event in Gush Etzion in recent decades."

"By official definition, he was a photographer, but those who knew him knew that above all else, he was a true soldier of the settlement. He saw a mission to bring the story of our settlement enterprise here on this good mountain, through the lens of his camera. Gush Etzion owes him a lot and God willing, we will find a way to salute him for that. For me, he has been a true friend for many years. I will miss him greatly."
