The Finance Committee held a heated debate today, in which committee chairman Slominsky sought to prove that, contrary to what is claimed, the communities around the Gaza Strip receive much more budget than the settlements. • An exchange of accusations was recorded between him and MK Shaffir, who was even removed from the debate.

So where does the money really go? Today, the Finance Committee held another heated discussion about funds going to the settlements, in which different data was presented than those previously published.

As you may recall, last week, during a discussion on budget advances to regional councils for damage caused by Operation Protective Edge, it turned out that while Mount Hebron received 413,000 shekels, Ashkelon Beach received only 278,000, and Shaar Negev 300.

Today, committee chairman MK Nissan Slominsky asked to present various data, showing that the communities in the Gaza enclave received much more.

The table shows that the Mount Hebron Regional Council has received a total of advances: 471 thousand NIS to date. Compared to the councils in the envelope that received more: Eshkol received 2.43 million NIS, Sderot - 4.24 million NIS, Shaar Hanegev: 1.24 million NIS, Ashkelon Beach: 2.36 million NIS, Ashdod: 18.45 million NIS, and more.

During the heated debate, a loud argument developed between MK Stav Shaffir and Slominsky, and Shaffir claimed that Slominsky was "hiding information and denying her the right to speak.".

In response, Solminsky slammed her: "You are driven by the extreme left, either you don't understand or you don't want to be confused by the facts and are lying. The data shows that Mount Hebron received much less than most authorities in the south.".

Slominsky added that "MK Shaffir operates according to the method of the extreme left: 'Don't let others speak.' The Interior Ministry's table shows exactly how much each authority received and shows that everything was done honestly and fairly. Mount Hebron received a total of 471,000 shekels, while other authorities and councils received millions of shekels in advances. All the accusations that I am benefiting the settlements at the expense of authorities in the south are a lie. MK Shaffir is constantly trying to take control of the discussions and doesn't let anyone speak.".

Shaffir was even removed from the discussion by the committee chairman.
