Today (Sunday), at around 11:50, a report was received at the Jerusalem Police Hotline 100 about an armed robbery that was carried out in the Ramat Sharet neighborhood in Jerusalem.

According to the suspicion, three suspects dressed in courier uniforms arrived at a residential building, entered the apartment and tied up the victim and his wife, took the keys to a luxury car from him and fled with the car.

Following the incident, the man and woman were slightly injured.

Following the report, police began searching, with the assistance of observers from the control center in the Jerusalem district.

The stolen vehicle was located, and under the direction of Jerusalem District Police observers, a police officer spotted it near Saker Park, blocked its path, and tried to approach the driver's door, in order to detain it.

At this point, the driver ran over the policeman, seriously injuring his foot. In response, the policeman, sensing danger, responded by shooting at the driver.

Despite his broken leg as a result of being run over, the police officer arrested the suspect driver - an 18-year-old resident of East Jerusalem - while his partner fled the vehicle on foot. Additional forces were called to the scene.

The police officer was taken for further medical treatment with a broken leg, and the suspected driver, who was neutralized and arrested, was taken to the hospital in moderate condition.

Large police forces under the command of the Zion Region Commander arrived at the scene, conducted searches for additional suspects, with the assistance of a police helicopter, and handled the scene where the stolen vehicle was located.

During the extensive searches, items of clothing left behind by the suspect's escape route were located.

In the afternoon, two additional suspects involved in the armed robbery were located - and they were arrested by the police.
