David Area police in the Jerusalem District arrested a 35-year-old suspect, a resident of southern Israel, in the Old City of Jerusalem on Wednesday afternoon on suspicion that he intended to disrupt order by allegedly hanging a donkey's head in a Muslim cemetery located near the Old City wall.
Following a report received by the police about the incident, David area police officers quickly arrived at the scene and located the suspect within minutes, with an axe in his possession.
The suspect, who is a person with a disability, was arrested by the police and taken for questioning in the David area on suspicion of animal abuse and disturbing public order.
In recent minutes, another suspect was arrested who allegedly drove the arrested suspect, and his involvement is being investigated.
The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
