MK Iman Khatib-Yassin from the Ra'am party was interviewed today (Sunday) on the Knesset Channel and was asked about the IDF spokesman's horror film about the October 7 massacre. How is compensation given to someone whose home was damaged? Is there compensation for the property of a passerby? Khatib-Yassin admitted that she did not enter to watch it, but said that according to what she heard from "Makor Rishon" - "They didn't slaughter babies, at least from what was in the film, and they didn't rape women. If that happened, it's shameful," the MK claimed in an interview with the Knesset Channel, without even watching the video. According to her, three members of her party came in and saw it. "We sat yesterday and talked about the film and this is what they said. I didn't go in to see it, I don't even open what is sent to my cell phone - because it only causes pain. "What happened is difficult. For me, it's something terrible, something very big that cannot be tolerated, but we don't deal with the semantics of things. I am a religious Muslim woman - and what happened goes against the values of Islam," she said. "However, you can't ignore everything that happened before. It doesn't justify it, but what is happening now within Arab society is difficult." The Ra'am leadership issued a quick statement, demanding that the MK resign. RAAM Chairman Mansur Abbas responded: "I was shocked to hear the words of Iman Khatib Yassin. I and the other members of the party strongly condemned the shocking massacre in the south from the first moment and emphasized the denunciation and disgust of the harm to women, babies and the elderly. There is and will be no place in our ranks for any party that denies or minimizes the seriousness of the acts that are contrary to our values and the Islamic religion. RAAM strongly opposes harming innocent people, whether they are Arabs or Jews." Justice Minister Yariv Levin responded to her words: "I was shocked by the serious words of MK Iman Khatib Yassin, which contain the essence of a denial of the terrible massacre committed by Hamas terrorists on October 7. Several days ago, even before MK Khatib Yassin's words, I instructed professionals at the Ministry of Justice to formulate a bill that would prohibit the denial of the massacre and establish a punishment "Strict punishment for those who do so.".
