Jewish life in Berlin, Germany, is expanding with the launch of two strictly kosher food outlets, under the supervision of the city's rabbi, Rabbi Yehuda Teichtel. One is the "Daily Kosher" cafe, which recently opened in central Berlin. "Daily Kosher" is located at Weitzstrasse 13, where thousands of locals and tourists from all over the world pass, and it provides kosher consumers with fresh pastries, cakes and breads every day. At the same time, the Lechaim Kosher Mehadrin restaurant, located in the center of the Jewish community - Chabad, at Münstersche Strasse 6 in the German capital, announced a significant expansion with the launch of a Sushi restaurant in the same complex. The new restaurant, managed by Andreas Marinkowitz, offers guests a complete sushi menu. All sushi dishes are prepared on site by Lechaim's chefs. The restaurant's Jewish dishes have become a food attraction in recent years - not only for Jewish guests, but also for locals and non-Jewish tourists, who enjoy the diverse Jewish menu. Rabbi Teichtel, who provides the kosher certification for the new cafe and the new sushi restaurant, placed mezuzahs at the Daily Kosher, upon the opening of the place. "For us, the residents of Berlin," the rabbi said excitedly, "the opening of a kosher Mehadrin cafe and sushi restaurant is a very significant expansion in Jewish life." He added: "There is a great demand for kosher products from "Many guests from Israel and the Jewish world in general. The challenges are not easy, but thank God two new places have opened, which is really good news for every Jew who lives here, or who comes to visit." [Gallery]
