And the Minister-in-Charge for the Negev and Galilee, MK Yitzhak Wasserlauf, spoke today (Thursday) with media person Ofer Hadad from News 12 in Panel at the 'Real Estate City' conference. During the interview, Wasserlauf referred to his role: "I am not the story here. We are in a mega event, if I can say it carefully, there are almost two countries here. There is the center, developed high-tech, buildings. And there is the Negev and the Galilee. It is almost, and I say it carefully, almost a third world country - in everything." According to him, "I knew this, but I was exposed to it when I got to the field and saw it, and I'm going on another tour of the Negev later. This situation is in everything, it's in the economy, in employment, in education.".
Wasserlauf said: "When I got married, I lived in Beit Shean for six months. Do you know why I left? I left because we spent six months looking for a job for my wife. Something simple, 2,000 shekels to start the month, is not enough! Who would stay to live there?" Referring to the problem of protection, Wasserlauf replied: "Minimum penalties should be set for those who collect protection. I want a section in the law specifically for protection collectors.".
