Moments before lighting: The winning rabbi passed the 'sun' to the losing rabbi

A special and moving tribute: At an evening of appreciation for the Georgian community in the city of Lod, on the occasion of the Hanukkah holiday, which was held at the municipal Cultural Center with the participation of about 500 members of the community living in the city - a surprise occurred. The vaccine for children aged 5-11 is recommended by doctors: a special response for parents It's unimaginable: injury, hunger, and thirst • So how should mice be caught? Everyone adopts one vaccinated person: Have you already convinced a friend, neighbor, or relative? היה זה כאשר רבה הראשי של לוד, הגאון רבי שמעון מאיר ביטון, כובד להדליק את החנוכייה על הבמה, אך לפתע העביר את 'השמש' לרב הקהילה הגאורגית בלוד,  הגאון רבי יצחק מוזגורשוילי - וכיבדו בהדלקת הנרות. השניים התמודדו זה מול זה בבחירות לרבנות העיר, שהתקיימו לפני כשנה. מאות הנוכחים באולם הריעו במחיאות כפיים סוערות, ורב קהילה הגאורגית בירך את הברכות בקול רם ובהתרגשות רבה הדליק את החנוכייה – כאשר אישי הציבור והקהל מנגן את שירי החנוכה - "הנרות הללו" ו"מעוז צור ישועתי". ראש העיר לוד, עו"ד יאיר רביבו, שעמד על הבמה לצד הרבנים, הגיב: "כמו שאור החנוכייה איחד את הלבבות וריגש את הציבור, כך אור הנרות יאיר לנו את כל ימות השנה כולה ויעניק לנו אחדות בעם ישראל ובקרב תושבי העיר לוד מכל גווני האוכלוסיות והפסיפס האנושי שמרכיב את לוד".
